Guide Review - Billy Currington - Billy Currington
Billy Currington wrote the chorus to "Walk A Little Straighter" when he was but a young boy (12) and it was there where his potential to be a singer/songwriter emerged.
It's unfathomable for an artist to not only write a song on their debut album at that young of an age but to have also a hit with it. The song went all the way to the Top 10 of the charts, which is more than anyone could hope for, especially a personal song written about one's alcoholic father.
"I Got A Feelin'" is a song that most guys can relate to for it talks about feeling like your in love and how you can't quite say the words. "That's Just Me" is one of those kinds of songs that just gets inside you and has you humming the melody and singing the words long after it's over. "Off My Rocker" has the potential to be a huge hit for it's a highly relatable song with, yet again, an infectious melody. Simply this song about the way relationships "really" work.
When it comes to the rest of the album, there really isn't a "stinker" to be found. "Billy Currington" is the kind of album that any artist could dream of making. There are the sensitive ballads, the fun songs and the true-to-life stories mostly found in country music.
This is one album that's should be owned by every country fan.
