Instructions for the Powermate PM0535000
- 1). Check gas and oil levels, fill the tanks if necessary. Do not overfill.
- 2). Disconnect all appliances and electrical loads from the generator.
- 3). Turn on the fuel.
- 4). Turn on the choke. If the generator was used recently you may not need to turn on the choke.
- 5). Turn on the generator power switch.
- 6). Pull the starting pull cord slowly until there is resistance. Let it rewind, then pull rapidly. Repeat if needed.
- 7). Move the choke to the "Run" position after the engine starts.
- 8). Let the generator run five minutes before you plug in any appliances.
- 9). Plug the electrical power cord, for an electrical appliance, into the correct socket. Only use cords that have use a three-prong grounding plug. Loads should be plugged into the generator in a specific sequence: inductive equipment like refrigerators first, then lights and lastly voltage sensitive equipment such as televisions.

Use the electrical appliance as normal while plugged into the generator. - 11
Disconnect all appliances if the circuit breakers are tripped. Let the generator cool. Do not reconnect all the appliances. You don't want to overload the generator again. - 12
Remove all appliances and electrical loads when you are done using the generator. - 13
Let the generator run for two minutes. - 14
Turn the power switch to "Off." - 15
Let the generator completely stop. Do not leave it unsupervised. - 16
Close the fuel-shut off valve. - 17
Let the generator cool completely before putting a cover on it.
