An Introduction to Snake Repeller

One very interesting product I ran across is actually called a snake repeller.
They are supposed to keep snakes out of your yard and your property through a number of ways.
This seemed very odd to me, a product that could actually keep snakes away? And as a person who is terrified of even the smallest snake, this made me very curious.
It was definitely worth some investigating, and here are some of the points I came across.
One of the main snake repeller products is an electronic snake repeller.
This may sound crazy, but I am sure you have seen commercials saying that if you plug in a device into your wall you can get rid of bugs.
Apparently at some point people tried to carry over that technology for snakes.
This products works on the principle that vibrations can scare away snakes.
This device then sends out electronic vibrations that the snake can only feel and pick up.
These vibrations upset the snake; therefore they want to leave the area.
There really is no proof that these types of products work.
I would imagine that more research has to be done on them for me to even consider endorsing a product like that.
Another one of the more popular snake repeller options comes in powder form.
This powders work on the theory that they can create enough bad smells and irritants to the snakes senses that they will again want to leave.
These can include all sorts of ingredients from cinnamon to moth balls to sulfur, and everything in between.
Some of these chemicals can even be harmful to humans, making it very important that if you are going to use a product like this, you use it carefully and smartly.
In my opinion however, the smartest thing to do would be avoid products like these, they probably do not work really well anyways.
I know most of us do not want to hear it, but the best way to get rid of snakes seems to be do the old fashioned things that are proven to work, such as remove trash, junk piles, keep the lawn mowed, and the weeds cut.
These things might take time, but they will get rid of snakes, something I can't guarantee about these snake repeller products.
