Stop Settling For Second Best

103 1
As Maureen Dowd says.
"The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for" People settle in all areas of there lives.
They settle for jobs they don't enjoy, relationships that are safe but dull, lives that are a pale shadow of their dreams.
Sometimes they settle because they don't realize that they could have something better or don't think that they deserve any better.
Other times they settle because they fear going out to get what they really want.
Fear is the biggest reason for settling.
We all have the potential for greatness.
The only way to embrace our true potential is for us to stop settling.
Life is too short to settle for a dull job or an unfulfilling life.
To break the habit of settling you have to start small.
Start one small step at a time but start now.
Start with the small things in your life that you settle for and go from there.
Settling is a habit and habits take a while to change, so be patient with yourself.
Start by going through your home and keeping only those things that you really love.
When you are shopping don't buy things just because they are on sale.
A cheaper brand of your favorite snack that doesn't taste so good is settling.
Save up to buy the digital camera that you really want rather than settling for a cheaper and less good version now.
Start with this kind of decision and notice all the times that you settle for less.
Then work up to other areas of your life.
