Overeating Aside from the convenience and sometimes necessity based on our work schedules, desk dining can have some drawbacks which you should consider.
One of the major issues with desk dining is that you're not paying much attention to your food because you're dealing with other tasks that are much higher priorities.
The downfall to this is that this instinctive habit can lead to senseless eating and over consumption.
In addition to overeating, desk dining represents an increase in the amount of time spent in a stationary position in front of a computer and less time being active which would allow your heart to pump and blood to flow properly.

Your workspace is a prime area for bacteria to thrive in.
Ever have to take an emergency call or meeting that forced you away from eating? Consider this, the tuna salad that's been sitting on your desk for the past 30 minutes or so in room temperature can easily become feeding grounds for bacteria.
Desks with respect to bacteria are 400 times dirtier than your toilet.
This in large part has to do with the fact that people turn their desks into kitchens but neglect to clean them.
Are you a person that is desk bound for lunch due to a heavy workload? Are you aware what this means to your well-being? More times than not, you aren't and that is troubling.
The fact of the matter is eating at your desk can lead to nutrition and work safety problems.
Being informed about the issue is a great start and foundational step to being proactive and creating good eating habits at work.
