Ways to Improve Sleep and Work Productivity

103 22
Finding your focus in the workplace is nearly impossible if you are tired.
Unfortunately, getting those extra zz's means shutting off the tv and going to bed right after dinner, right? Wrong! You can change your workplace productivity without massively changing your lifestyle.
Here are five ideas for how you can improve your work by sleeping better at home: 1.
Maintain a regular sleep schedule.
This is vital during the week and weekend to stay rejuvenated through your workday.
The recommended amount of sleep is eight hours per night.
Even if you sleep less than that, try to fall asleep and wake at the same time every day.
2.
Know your mattress.
An old mattress becomes more and more uncomfortable over time.
Did you know that spring mattresses need to be replaced every 5-7 years? If you find it difficult to get comfortable because of pressure from your mattress pressing against your joints and causing you to toss and turn, chances are that your mattress has worn down around the springs.
3.
Zen you bedroom.
Having a zen bedroom does not require feng shui or any other complicated rituals, it simply means that your bedroom should be used for only bed activities.
TVs, computers and other electronics have no place in your sleeping area.
Bedrooms should be reserved for sleep and sex only.
4.
Stop drinking caffeine a few hours before bedtime.
This way you can slumber uninhibited by external factors.
5.
Be sure your mattress works for you.
You spend over 2,920 hours in bed each year.
Make sure that your bed is one you look forward to falling into each night.
