Will it truly make you happy if you get back together with your ex? Are you sure you won't end up in the same situation if you do? the good times are easy to remember after a breakup and we long to have them back.
Just be sure that getting your ex back is truly what you want for the right reasons.

First you need to change your mind set.
Understand that the relationship is currently over.
Take an honest look at what caused the breakup and how those issues can be fixed so that they will not happen again.
You need to make sure you've got your ducks in a row before you proceed any further.
Constantly contacting and pushing your ex to get back together is a horrible idea.
Forget the phone, email and texting.
Stalking is out of the question too.
Your ex will see this as desperation and you will end up pushing them further away from you which will obviously make your situation even worse.
Refrain from arguing at all costs.
Arguing will only add fuel to the fire and your problems will multiply.
Realize that when you are alone or even with a supportive friend that your mind will come up with all kinds of "wrongs" that were committed against you.

Beating yourself up won't help you in the least ok? Just let em go if you expect you and your ex to get back together.
Simply back off and give them some space and time for now.
your ex has memories too and the separation will cause them to start reminiscing and realize how much they want you back.
