Bed Bug Outbreak in Des Moines, Iowa is an Epidemic
It's not the stress and pressure of this economic recession that is keeping them awake all night long.
It's actually a much worse problem...
bed bugs.
That's right folks, these creepy little nighttime pests are feasting on unsuspecting humans at a rate not seen since the 1940s.
Bed bugs are rampant and reaching almost epidemic proportions.
If you live in Des Moines, or almost anywhere in Iowa, including Davenport, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Fort Dodge, Mason City, etc.
, you may want to ensure that your home is bedbug free.
Once there is an infestation, your "situation" can literally become a nightmare, seemingly overnight.
Preventing bed bugs is MUCH easier than getting rid of them after the fact! If you don't believe this, just have a glimpse at your local news featuring a couple downtown Des Moines apartment buildings completely infested with bedbugs.
Actually they have been overrun for several years, but the problem became so bad that the tenants finally took action, alleging that management has failed to properly address the serious pest problem.
Reports indicate that over 250 tenants have suffered "unconscionable and substandard living conditions" as a result of the infestation.
The company which manages the two complexes was initially skeptical of bedbug complaints and blamed the problems on residents' hygiene, according to the complaint.
The pest problem apparently doesn't just include bedbugs either; cockroaches and rodents were also reported as being present in the buildings.
