How in the World Did I Get Hemorrhoids?

103 5
Hemorrhoids affect many people; it is so common that some people don't even know how or where they got them.
Whether or not you have hemorrhoids, it is important to know the causes of hemorrhoids, so that you can avoid experiencing such an unsightly and painful condition.
With hemorrhoids, prevention is still the best solution.
1) Bad sitting position while defecating - This is the most common cause of hemorrhoids and many people are not even aware they're doing it.
To avoid hemorrhoids, you should make sure you don't strain while defecating by placing a six-inch stool in front of you and placing your feet on it.
This reduces your chances of developing hemorrhoids to up to 50 percent.
2) Constipation - When you're constipated, every time you go to the bathroom, you are straining the anus, which causes damage to your rectum because it is exposed to too much pressure inside.
To avoid this, drink plenty of water and eat lots of fiber - these two dietary changes would ensure you don't become constipated and you never develop hemorrhoids.
3) Lifting heavy objects - Every time you strain, you are putting pressure on the vessels within your anal region.
If you can't avoid lifting, such as those who perform weight training, make sure you are fully capable and educated with proper lifting techniques.
This way, not only can you avoid straining your back, but also prevent hemorrhoid formation.
4) Wiping aggressively - If you tend to wipe too hard or too much, you are prone to having hemorrhoids.
This is because the sensitive tissues in your anal region are exposed to constant abuse.
You can avoid this by eating and drinking properly, which helps you defecate without the need to wipe much.
However, if you really need to wipe more than usual, make sure to use damp cloth than toilet paper.
Be aware that people who spend a lot of time sitting are more at risk of forming hemorrhoids due to the constant pressure on your anal tissues.
If you can't avoid sitting for long hours, be sure to perform some one-hour exercises at least thrice a week.
Once you avoid these common causes of hemorrhoids, you'll never have to experience the pain and discomfort hemorrhoids can bring.
