Painful, Bleeding Hemorrhoids and How You Can Treat Them

Hemorrhoids, otherwise known as piles are painful small swollen veins around the rectum.
Besides being painful, itchy and downright uncomfortable they can often bleed.
Hemorrhoids are often embarrassing to the sufferer and they put off getting medical treatment due to this reason.

What are Hemorrhoids and Why They Developed" Hemorrhoids are small swollen veins that develop around and often inside the rectum.
Many people over the age of 50 suffer with piles but that does not mean young people do not get them.
Piles are a relatively common occurrence.
Piles develop due to a variety of reasons.
  1. Constant constipation as you are straining to relieve your bowel
  2. Pregnancy, labour and delivery
  3. Long bouts of diarrhea and
  4. Obesity
Some people seem more prone to hemorrhoids than others.
Symptoms of piles often include pain when going to the toilet, spots of blood, itching and extreme discomfort.
What You Can Do At Home:
  1. Keep hydrated and take fibre supplements to stay regular
  2. Keep active and try to maintain an average fitness level
  3. Try not to strain when going to the toilet and
  4. Avoid sitting for long periods of time.
Ice packs for not longer than 20 minutes is beneficial to help reduce the swelling associated with piles and if the pain of the piles is excruciating, then a short term remedy is to apply some coconut oil on the affected parts.
It is soothing and brings relief to the piles in a very short time, but it cannot treat the piles permanently.
A great home remedy for piles is to take about half a teaspoonful of ginger juice, half a teaspoonful of lime juice, half a teaspoonful of mint leaves juice and one tablespoonful of honey.
Mix these ingredients together and drink it once in a day.
