Delta Tub Shower Valve Installation
- 1). Remove the old shower valve, if the faucet is not brand new. Close the house's main water valve, then turn on the faucet to make sure the water has been completely cut off.
- 2). Unscrew the screw anchoring the faucet handle, which is located either in the center of the handle or at the base or near where the handle connects to the faucet. Use either an Allen wrench or a Phillips screwdriver, depending on the type of screw used in your faucet.
- 3). Turn the nut that sits under the handle counterclockwise using an adjustable wrench, until the nut comes free. Slide off the chrome sleeve from the valve, if one is present, then use the wrench to twist the valve counterclockwise until it comes free as well.
- 4). Screw the new valve into the water pipe, turning it clockwise and tightening it with the wrench. Slide the chrome sleeve over the valve and tighten the nut that attaches to the end of the valve.
- 5). Insert the handle over the nut and valve, then tighten the screw in the middle or base of the handle until the handle does not jiggle. Open the main water valve for the house, then check the faucet for any leaks.
