Hemorrhoids are pesky annoyances.
They may be parts of some people's daily routine but their effects on one's quality of life cannot be ignored.
Here are 7 ways on how to heal hemorrhoids.
1 - Improve your diet.
Diets low in fiber is one the most common cause of hemorrhoids.
Decrease your risk for having hemorrhoids, cure existing ones or prevent them from worsening by eating more fiber.
Fibers promote easier passage of stool on a more regular basis, avoiding constipation and straining.
Fiber-rich foods are fruits and vegetables.
2- Change your habits.
Do not sit too long on the toilet.
You can also try sleeping on your side at night.
Do these things to lessen the pressure to your bum.
3 - Do not hold it in.
If you feel the urge to pass stool, do it on the get-go.
Holding it in will harden your stool resulting to constipation which, in turn, leads to straining.
Straining will put too much pressure on your anal structures and irritate your hemorrhoids.
Prevention of over-straining will also lessen the pain during and after defecation.
4 - Warm your bum.
A sitz bath will lessen the pain and itching.
It will also clean the anal area, preventing dirt and germs from causing possible infection and complicating the hemorrhoids.
Soak your bum into a tub if warm water for 15 to 20 minutes.
You can add baking soda or salt for additional soothe and cleansing.
You may repeat this twice or thrice a day.
5 - Use fast-acting topical products.
Some pain are too excruciating so they need fast-acting remedies such as topical creams and ointments.
These topical products usually contain analgesics, anesthetics and/or steroids.
Most of them are symptomatic relief though and do not completely heal the hemorrhoids.
6 - Go natural! Ground a radish and mix with milk to use as paste application for your hemorrhoids to alleviate the pain.
You can also start growing aloe vera at your backyard, or on a pot, because the gel that comes out of its leaves may be used as suppositories by collecting them together and freezing them overnight.
Fortunately for the not-so-diligent among us, there are commercially available preparations.
You can look for those with witch hazel, butcher's broom or horse chestnut.
These natural products potentially cure the hemorrhoids themselves and not just lessen the symptoms.
Being natural, there may be less and minor side effects.
It is easier to overdose with the improper use of the chemical topical agents.
7 - Get ready to hop on your doctor's (operating) table.
More severe forms of hemorrhoids will need surgical removal.
You have the option of going through the conventional scalpel surgery or laser surgery.
Some claims say there is less pain, easier healing with laser surgery.
It is more expensive however.
Follow these ways on how to heal hemorrhoids to live life with more ease.
More importantly, do these to prevent worsening your condition and avoid other complications and the need for surgery.
