Easy Guitar Lessons - Where Should You Begin?
I visited the guitar store and tried to look for a lesson book or some type of material that could help me start developing some talent with the guitar.
However, it was harder than I thought and what made it worse was that I was pretty tight on cash as that point in my life.
The one thing that I recognized every time I tried to learn about how to play the guitar was that the most important aspect that needed to be establish with guitar playing was technique.
No matter what anyone will tell you, technique is something that can never be bypassed.
I tried to play right from the start without any technique and all I could hear was six annoying strings vibrating on my guitar.
That was not what I was striving for! My main goal from that point on was not to learn how to play my favorite rock song, but to learn a technique that I would stick with for as long as I would play the guitar.
After a good month of reading and developing a love for the guitar, my technique flourished like nothing I had ever expected.
I learned that with a passion for music and a growing will to learning how to play the guitar my technique will blossom into a powerful tool that would help me build on my goal.
Just follow my three rules to building on your technique and before you know it, you will be ready to play a song or two.
1.
Work on positioning your body, strumming hand(my right hand), and your chord/string hand(my left hand).
You want to position your body sitting up straight and your guitar should be tucked in under your arm pit.
Then, your strumming hand should be positioned directed near the sound hole of the guitar, so when you strum the strings they vibrate perfectly to create the sound that is required.
Lastly, position your other hand at the other end of the guitar by cupping the fret board in your palm, as if you are trying to grip the entire end.
2.
Without rhythm, there is no music.
You must have a sense of rhythm in order to go along with a song that you may want to learn how to play.
Go on line and download a metronome which will help you develop a steady rhythm to play on the guitar.
What a metronome helps you with is develop your strumming pattern when playing a song.
For instance, strum, pause, pause, strum, pause, pause, strum, pause, pause, strum, pause, pause, and so on.
Songs are played with rhythm, so being able to strum when you need to is essential to know how to play the guitar.
3.
Lastly, the one most important trait that anyone must learn to develop when trying to learn how to play the guitar is patience.
Without patience you might as well give up right now.
Patience is more vital than anything because with it you can excel greatly.
What many people do not realize when first beginning to learn how to play the guitar is that it takes lots of practice and time.
Nothing comes easy when learning the guitar, but with some patience and practice, it will come quicker than you can image.
One last thought I want to leave with any individual that is trying to learn how to play the guitar is that "practice makes perfect.
