How to Adjust a Keg Regulator

    • 1). Determine the level of carbonation in the beer. You can obtain this by asking the brewery that made the beer. Carbonation is measured in "volumes." Standard levels of are between 2.0 to 3.0 volumes of carbon dioxide.

    • 2). Determine the temperature at which the beer is being served. The best way to do that is to place a fridge thermometer in the refrigerator where the keg is.

    • 3). Determine the proper serving pressure by looking up the carbonation level in the beer and the temperature on a carbon dioxide equilibrium chart.

    • 4). Adjust the regulator to the correct serving pressure. The regulator might require you to use a flat head screwdriver to turn the adjustment screw.
