Cuisinart DCC-1100 - Coffee Maker Review

Welcome to my article.
Today I will be reviewing the Cuisinart DCC-1100 coffee maker.
Hopefully after reading the next few paragraphs you will be a little bit closer to deciding which coffee maker is ideally suited to your needs and more confident when it comes to making a purchase.
Let's start with the brewing temperature.
The Cuisinart DCC-1100 brews coffee at approximately 197 degrees.
This is not bad at all and compared to many other coffee makers available today which brew at anywhere as low as 175 degrees.
I must say that I think personally the brewing temperature should be just over the 200 degree mark for the "perfect" flavor to be extracted, but the Cuisinart does a solid job.
The way that the hot water is dispersed over the coffee grounds during the brew process is something that is often overlooked by buyers.
However if we are not careful we will most definitely be disappointed with the flavor that results.
Some coffee makers just pour the water in a stream over the coffee, this almost invariably results in a ring of coffee that doesn't get touched by the water and therefore no flavor is extracted.
The Cuisinart DCC-1100 does a good job when it comes to this however and because it has a shower head, there nothing but the smallest amount of grounds that miss out on the water.
We have the option of using either paper or the cone mesh filter with our machine here.
I won't say that one method is better than another, but just the effects we see from using each.
Using the paper filters typically results in a slightly better filtering process but perhaps not all the flavor extracted, while the mesh filter gets all the flavor (strength) but leaves a residue of coffee grounds in the pot.
Thanks for reading.
