How to Cut a Hydraulic Hose
- 1). Put on your ear protection, eye protection and gloves before getting started.
- 2). Measure your hydraulic hose to the length you need it.
- 3). Mark it using your soap stone. Soap stone writes better on black hoses than most other writing utensils.
- 4). Place your hose in the chop saw. While holding it, lower the blade down and place the hose so that the blade will cut to the outside of the mark you made.
- 5). Secure the hose in place with the clamp on the chop saw.
- 6). Power on the saw and slowly cut down through the hose. Remember you want to cut on the outside of the line you made so you should leave intact, the line as this is the length you want. If you cut inside the line you will end up one blade-width short.
- 7). Power off the saw and remove your cut hydraulic hose from the clamp.
