- Public and private transportation connects New York City to all major airports. Buses and subways run from John F. Kennedy International and LaGuardia Airport, and New Jersey Transit operates trains into the city from Newark International. Express Shuttle buses, taxis and rental cars are available at all airports.
- Subways are the most popular method of daily travel. To ride, purchase a Metro Card at the automated kiosks or from an attendant. Cards can be purchased as pay-per-ride--better for infrequent travel and multiple users--or unlimited ride, the best option for frequent riders.
- Although not as fast as subways, buses reach areas of the city not serviced by subway and go cross-town. Riders can purchase a fare on-board or at an automated kiosk in any subway station.
- As part of the northeast corridor, New York City is served well by high-speed rail and regional bus. One of New York's best deals is the Chinatown bus to Boston for $15.
- Driving in New York City is discouraged due to cost and inconvenience. If you believe that you must drive, pay close attention to signs, always pay your parking meter, and never make a right turn on red.
