Type "expunction" in the box for "Title" to obtain a list of forms. North Carolina permits the expungement of criminal charges resulting from identity theft, criminal charges not resulting in convictions, convictions of misdemeanors by minors, convictions for alcohol possession by a person younger than age 21, convictions of misdemeanor larceny more than 15 years old, certain drug charges and official records where the governor pardons a person because of innocence. Click on the form number for the petition you need. - 3). Go to the Court System homepage and click on "List of All Forms" under the "Favorites" box to search for a specific form. Scroll to the criminal forms, which will have the abbreviation "CR," for "criminal," in the form number. Look for the expungement petition you need. Write down the form number. Go back to the Court System homepage, click on "Forms" under the banner and type the form number in the "Form Number" box on the forms search page.
