French Restaurants in Atlanta
Bistro Niko
Bistro Niko, located on the bustling corner of Piedmont and Peachtree streets in Buckhead, is a classic choice for a moderately upscale French bistro in Atlanta. Part of Buckhead Life Group, this spacious restaurant has an open dining room and lively bar that can get quite noisy during peak hours.
The menu offers a wide variety of options, from more affordable sandwich options to full scale entrees. They also offer a wide variety of oysters, displayed on a lovely ice bar.
This guide has had several satisfying meals at Bistro Niko. The Coq a Vin is a personal favorite. More »
Anis
Also in Buckhead, Anis is a charming bistro with a great patio nestled in a converted house on a quiet side road. The menu is simple and rustic bistro fare, and they always have a nice variety of specials available. The vibe is laid back and the crowd is a typical Buckhead mix of young and old - but this is not the place to get rowdy.
One of my most memorable Atlanta meals was at Anis when the power went out due to a storm, luckily we were sitting on the patio and there was still a bit of light left. We dined by candlelight and the kitchen COOKED by candlelight! That's dedication to customer service.More »
Atmosphere
Atmosphere is located in a converted house near the intersection of Piedmont and Monroe, just north of Piedmont Park in Midtown. Driving by you'll see a cozy candlelit outdoor garden with bistro tables, and indoors there is an intimate setup of winding rooms.
On the menu you'll discover many classic French dishes, with options for the more adventurous American diner including Escargot and Pied de cochon farçi - that's pigs feet stuffed with foie gras. Atmosphere also offers a $15 prix fixe lunch menu and a $25 or $35 dinner option.More »
Cafe Alsace
For a different take on French bistro dining, try Cafe Alsace in downtown Decatur. This cozy cafe feels a bit like dining in a family home, and the menu has the typical French options, but focuses on the Alsace region of France, located on the border of Germany and Switzerland, so there's a heavy influence from those other countries.
The menu includes homestyle dishes with interesting twists, including spaetzle, sauerkraut served with of sausage, and other ingredients you may not think of as typically French. The service here, as in Europe, is friendly but moves at a leisurely pace.More »
