How to Find Raw Food Restaurants in New York City
- 1). Go to Raw Soul on West 145th Street in Harlem. Raw Soul has it all--a cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and great menu. Serving everything from lasagna to enchiladas, you can't go wrong here. The raw pizza is also amazing. There is a good selection of desserts as well, from chocolate cake to dairy-free cheesecake. This place is a must-visit.
- 2). Check out Jubb's Longevity on East 12th Street in the East Village. Jubb's has a great selection of cleansing juices and smoothies. The menu is creative and exciting with many unique raw food dishes available. The lasagna is wonderful, as is the faux-beef stuffed cabbage covered in orange sauce. There are some unusual desserts available here too, like the Irish moss parfait, available in chocolate and strawberry.
- 3). Dine at Pure Food and Wine on Irving Place in Union Square. There are delicious pastas, tamales and cheeses all on the menu at Pure Food and Wine. Some of the food here is so delicious that it's almost hard to believe that it's "raw." With a beautiful decor and courteous staff, Pure Food and Wine is a wonderful dining experience. The desserts are as sublime as the entrees--don't miss out on the delectable ice cream sundae.
- 4). Stop by Pure Juice and Takeaway on East 17th Street in Union Square. This is the sister cafe to the aforementioned Pure Food and Wine Restaurant. The vibe is definitely more casual here than at Pure Food and Wine. This is a good place to get organic juices and smoothies. A lot of the same dishes are offered here too, like the lasagna and lettuce wraps. The flatbread pizza is a must-have.
- 5). Dine at Quintessence on East 10th Street in the East Village. Quintessence is a great restaurant to dine on healthy Mexican food with raw ingredients. Mexican food is not the only food on the menu, however, as there are lots of great pastas and soups. The spaghetti squash is very tasty and filling. There are also a lot of quality desserts--especially the homemade ice cream parfait. Quintessence is a favorite, and understandably so, for many raw-food lovers in New York City.
