How to Remove a 1991 Toyota Supra Gas Tank

Part 1

• 1). Raise the rear of the vehicle using the floor jack to get access to the gas tank.
  
  
• 2). Use a wrench to unscrew the drain plug from under the gas tank and drain the fuel in the tank into a gasoline container.
  
  
• 3). Remove the fuel tank protector shields by unscrewing the bolts holding it in place.
  
  
• 4). Remove the fuel filler pipe by unscrewing the bolt holding it in place.
  
  
• 5). Disconnect the fuel pump wiring harness.
  
  

Part 2

• 1). Disconnect the fuel supply and return the hoses from the tank pipes.
  
  
• 2). Disconnect the fuel breather hose from the fuel tank.
  
  
• 3). Support the bottom of the fuel tank with a floor jack to keep it from falling.
  
  
• 4). Remove the fuel tank strap bolts. The straps will release the fuel tank.
  
  
• 5). Lower the fuel tank away from the vehicle using the floor jack.
