How to Disable an Alarm in a Dodge Durango

Disengaging the Alarm

• 1). Put the key in the ignition.
  
  
• 2). Turn the key forward all the way just before you hear the engine cranking.
  
  
• 3). Within five seconds of turning the key forward, locate, press and hold the valet/override button under the dashboard. It is a spring-loaded push button.
  
  
• 4). Hold the valet/override button until the blinking, LED light in the dashboard goes solid and the siren chirps. The alarm has been reset.
  
  

Returning Alarm to Armed Mode

• 1). Put the key in the ignition.
  
  
• 2). Turn the key forward all the way just before you hear the engine cranking.
  
  
• 3). Within five seconds of turning the key forward, locate, press and hold the valet/override button under the dashboard. It is a spring-loaded push button.
  
  
• 4). Hold the valet/override button until the blinking, LED light in the dashboard goes solid and the siren chirps twice. The two chirps confirm the alarm has been set to the usable armed mode.
