Honeywell Electronic Air Cleaner Cleaning Instructions
- 1). Open the main cover and allow the cover to swing open on the hinges. Slide the prefilters out of the channel guides, followed by the cells.
- 2). Soak the cells for 15 minutes in a container with 1 gallon of very hot water -- at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit -- and home electric dishwasher powder or liquid. Use enough detergent to make the water sudsy. Agitate the cell in the detergent solution to move the detergent through the cell.
- 3). Remove the cell from the detergent solution and place in a new container of clear, hot water for 10 minutes. Remove the cell from the water and allow to air dry thoroughly. Ensure no detergent residue remains on the cell. Rinse and dry again if necessary.
- 4). Use a small vacuum to remove excess dirt and debris from the prefilter. If excessively dirty, soak the prefilter in a detergent solution similar to Step 3. Rinse in hot water and allow to air dry.
- 5). Wipe down the ionizer wires with a clean, dry cloth.
- 6). Slide the cell back into the main unit following the channel guides, followed by the prefilter. Close the main cover.
