Guide Review - Review of Hilton Miami Biscayne Bay Hotel
Formerly the Radisson Hotel Miami, the Miami Biscayne Bay Hotel was taken over by Hilton on January 1, 2008. The lobby is colorful, attractive, and polished. My room was very clean and comfortable, with mini Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries and abundant white towels. The bed was firm and comfy, with plenty of thick feather pillows. Though in a basic suite, I had a gorgeous view which included the Arsht Performing Arts Center, cruise ships, and overpasses that were lit-up in bright colors at night. Though there was also a large rooftop viewable below, that is to be expected in a high-rise hotel.
The banquet and meeting facilities are also excellent, so this would be a great hotel for a conference.
They have several large banquet rooms with various options for dining or refreshments. Dining options in the hotel include Brisa Bistro, with an international menu, and the casual Gallery Lobby lounge with appetizers and cocktails. I enjoyed the atmosphere and food at both. They have room service options as well. For dining off-site, there are a few good restaurants in walking distance, and many good ones a short drive away in Brickell.
The roof-top pool was full of people enjoying themselves, but much more could be done to make the space more attractive and tropical. It really did look like a roof-top. Like with most hotels, some staff were very smart and friendly and some were less so. The person who checked me in made an error with my credit card, but the person who checked me out spotted the problem and corrected it quickly. But all staff were polite and respectful, from the registration desk staff to the valets to the restaurant wait staff.
Parking options include Valet and plenty of self-parking. Either one will cost you $28 per night, or about half that is you are with a conference.
