- 1). Call the Georgia Foster Care adoption and recruitment line and notify the agent that you would like to become a foster parent. (See Resources.)
- 2). Attend the Floyd County foster parents orientation meeting. The meeting information for Floyd County orientation will be provided by the foster care representative.
- 3). Complete the preservice training. The preservice training provides foster families with information about the being a foster parent or family.
- 4). Submit your references and information for criminal background check, home safety inspection and medical examinations. Once you have completed the training and if you are able to pass the background and home inspections, you will be allowed to become a foster parent.
