- 1). Gather your documents. If applying to extend a Tier 4 student visa to undertake a new course, you must have from your school a Confirmation of Accepted Studies and proof of funds to pay your tuition and living expenses. Proof of funds includes school sponsorship letters and bank statements.
- 2). If applying for a new Sponsored Skilled Worker Tier 2 visa or work permit, obtain a certificate of sponsorship from your future employer. - 4). Take the online points-based system assessment for the respective visa type, and if qualified make the visa application online and pay the visa processing fees. You will then be required to book and attend a biometrics (fingerprinting) appointment.
- 5). Send all documents, including the stamped biometrics letter, to the U.K. Consulate. Processing times vary; prepare for a four- to six-week turnaround.
