3 Best DJ Mixers
It allows the DJ to switch between two or more sound sources and maybe add some effects along the way.
It sounds like a simple task but the differences in mixers are immense.
Like anything in life, a quality mixer usually comes at a higher price but which are the top 3 DJ mixers? 1.
Rane TTM 57SL.
Rane.
Rane have been in the DJ game for years and it shows.
Everything that Rane produce is of the highest quality and the TTM 57SL is no exception to this rule.
Specifically designed to be used with Serato scratch live the TTM 57SL usually comes packaged with this great piece of kit.
The cross fader on the Rane mixer is simply a joy to work with.
Both the faders and the cross faders use none contact magnetic technology for an unbelievably smooth action.
Using the Rane allows you to have a physical version of Serato scratch live, giving you full access to this fantastic software without having to fiddle with your laptop! All this wizardry makes the Rane an unbeatable piece of kit.
2.
Pioneer DJM 900.
Pioneer is really a relative new comer to the world of DJ kit.
They really sprang into action by making the finest CD Mixers the world has ever seen but this mixer is simply great.
It is a digital mixer with direct connections to either CD decks or PC or MAC.
The first thing that really stands out on the pioneer is the sound quality.
It is fantastic and seems to be crystal clear whatever you try to hit it with.
This is mainly due to the built in 24 Bit/96kHz sound card.
The pioneer is also loaded with effects but 3 of them stand out from the rest: Sound color effects, Beat effects and X-PAD.
3.
Behringer DDM4000.
Behringer are all too often seen as the budget option but just because they are cheap doesn't mean they lack quality.
The DDM4000 is a 5 channel, 32bit digital mixer that can easily compete with some of the higher priced units.
One nice touch that is often missing off other, more expensive units is the BPM counter.
One other major advantage with the DDM4000 is the sheer number of effects.
There are hundreds of them.
Hidden amongst them knobs and buttons are literally thousands of different combinations to allow you to tweak and warp the sounds until they are unrecognisable.
At under $500 this is by far the cheapest unit but don't let that put you off; it's a great piece of kit.
As a cheap option the Berhinger is a great mixer but in our opinion the Rane/Serato combo is simply unbeatable.
