    • 1). Fill out the petitioner's forms for the particular courthouse where your case is being heard. Check all appropriate boxes, fill in all the blanks with the asked for information, and write out your account of any events that the form needs in order to be complete. Sign the form on the indicated line.

    • 2). Return the completed petition and any documentation it asks for to the court clerk at the courthouse where your case is being handled.

    • 3). Pay the filing fee. Once the fee is paid and the documents submitted, your petition is in the hands of the court and will be put on record.
