How to Design a Medieval Times Room

104 29
    • 1). Purchase a bed frame and other furniture made of a rich-colored wood such as stained teak, or iron.

    • 2). Dress the bed with bedding that is richly woven and incorporates a silky texture along with a mink mixture and accented with dangling tassels to give your room the image of an authentic 15th-century medieval castle.

    • 3). Arrange a pair of swords and a shield on a bare wall as a focal point in the room. If you are able to obtain historic weapons such as daggers, flails, spears and maces, incorporate those weapons into the decor on the wall. If the room you are designing is a media room, place one set of swords and a shield on both sides of the television.

    • 4). Position a full suit of armor beside the door of the room so the armor gives the illusion of watching over your personal space. Add a personal touch to the suit. For instance, place a tray in the hands if you are decorating a dining room.

    • 5). Place a medieval statue as a centerpiece of the room, or against the wall on top of a chest of drawers. An example of a medieval statue to incorporate into a room’s design is a gargoyle.
