1. Simple Roast Chicken:

Roast Chicken is proof that sometimes simple is better. Simply mix spices, coat chicken and then roast in the oven. You can make preparation and serving even easier by buying a chicken cut into eighths. The result is a moist and flavorful chicken entree that everyone will love.

2. Tangy Baked Chicken:

Our South African friend David served this Tangy Baked Chicken for Shabbat during Passover.

Just mix together the marinade ingredients, which are economical, flexible and kosher for Passover. Let the chicken marinate for a few hours or overnight. And bake. The resulting chicken is so delicious that your Sabbath guests are likely to ask for the recipe.

3. Honey Mustard Chicken:

This saucy Honey Mustard Chicken - with its curry and garlic kick - is perfect for Jewish holiday and Sabbath lunches because it does not dry out when reheated on the Shabbat Plata (hotplate). The honey in it makes is particularly fitting for Rosh Hashanah lunch. Serve with rice, which can be topped with the chicken's extra sauce, and a green salad or vegetable.

4. Apricot Chicken:

So simple and so good! This Apricot Chicken is my family's favorite saucy chicken recipe. I like to make it for Shabbat lunch because it is moist enough to serve the day after baked.

5. Breaded Baked Chicken:

This recipe for Breaded Baked Chicken is my family's favorite Sabbath lunch entree. It is not fried, but it sure is "finger lickin' good!"

6. Maple Chicken with Potatoes:

I turn to this recipe whenever I am rushed and need to quickly prepare a kosher meat meal that kids will also eat. Peel and cube potatoes, place chicken pieces on top, pour maple syrup (parve) on top, and bake. I like to serve the Maple Chicken and Potatoes with roasted asparagus or peas for a complete meal.

7. Shabbat in One Pot:

This Shabbat in One Pot recipe cooks the chicken and the rice together in the same pot. The rice is delicious as it absorbs the juices from the chicken. Make sure that the chicken is sealed tightly when cooking so that the steam stays in the pot and keeps the chicken moist.

8. Chicken Broccoli Cashew Stir-Fry:

This Chicken Broccoli Cashew Stir-Fry recipe is loosely based on a recipe of Yisrael Aharoni, a famous Israeli chef who has written cookbooks and hosts cooking shows that teach Israelis how to easily prepare gourmet food. Marinate the chicken in oil, honey and peanut butter, and then stir-fry it for 5 minutes. Blanch the broccoli. And then simply mix together the stir-fried chicken, blanched broccoli and roasted cashews. Serve this delicious meat stir-fry over white rice for a complete meal.

9. Israeli Chicken with Lemon and Olives:

Want to make a chicken dish with Israeli flavor? My neighbor Carmit showed me how to make her family’s favorite chicken, Chicken with Lemon and Olives. She covers the chicken with lemons and olives, along with her grandmother’s Moroccan spices, to create a delicious and easy-to-make main course for Friday night dinner.

10. Chicken Marsala:

Julie Remer and Paula Weinstein contributed this recipe for Chicken Marsala, a classic Italian chicken dish that makes a wonderful Sabbath entree. Serve with parve mashed potatoes and a green vegetable for a simple-to-make and delicious-to-eat dinner.
