Ideas With Flight Simulators

There are hundreds of virtual airlines that a flight simulator pilot may join. These virtual airlines are groups of enthusiasts who fly for a structured "airline." Some virtual airlines are virtual copies of real world airlines and use the same aircraft types on the same routes as the real companies, attempting to accurately simulate their operations. Others do not mirror real world airlines. Some replicate real airlines very accurately, down to training and scheduling, while others are more relaxed and geared towards the leisure flyer. In addition to airlines, there are also virtual cargo airlines, charter services, complete military branches and even bush flying clubs. - Fly to new places and see prominent landmarks.Jupiterimages/Photos.com/Getty Images
If you find yourself flying in the same area of the world all the time, perhaps from your home airport, consider flying to completely new destinations. Flying across a country, a continent or even around the world can be a great way to see new airports and scenery and expand your hobby. Use the same aircraft throughout the journey for continuity, or change to a new aircraft upon arriving at each destination. Alternatively, consider joining a virtual airline in an area where you rarely fly. - The Microsoft Flight Simulator series comes with built-in flying lessons that can help you attain your virtual pilot licenses. Courses are available for the Private, Instrument, Commercial and Airline Transport Pilot certificates. The lessons in each course can help you improve your flying skills and learn new procedures and practices. At the end of each course, a checkride is administered and, upon successful completion, a virtual certificate is awarded. Some virtual airlines also offer pilot training courses.

If you have been focusing on just a certain type of airplane for a while, try flying some new types. For example, if you fly only airliners in instrument conditions, try flying something smaller and slower in visual conditions, like bush flying. Venture into a completely new type of aircraft. Flight Simulator comes with different types of aircraft such as helicopters, float planes and gliders. Additionally, there are hundreds of freeware and payware add-ons available for Flight Simulator that can be downloaded and added to the simulator. Some popular websites include Avsim and Flightsim
