Well, it is commonly defined as swollen veins in the anal area.
These veins are usually located outside the rectum which are called external.

There are different symptoms for each type.

In addition to this, when you are suffering from the internal ones, you can also feel the need to defecate because of the lump inside the rectum.
Your body might think that this lump is a stool that needed to be defecated.
