While most of your time on any trip to Jamaica may be spent downing various daiquiris on the beach while the calming ocean breeze puts your worries at ease, there are a few options in the country for the more adventurous outdoor enthusiast. One of these is the famous canopy tour through the Jamaican countryside. - Chukka: The Original Canopy Tour is a two-hour tour located between Montego Bay and Negril and takes tourists on a high journey above the treetops of Jamaica. The tour contains five different horizontal zip lines, the longest of which is over 1,000 feet long. As of February 2010, there is a minimum age of 10 years old and it costs $45 per adult, $35 for students, $25 for children below the age of 12. Make sure to call the canopy tour to make your reservation, and they will send a shuttle to your resort to take you to the tour location. Also, make sure to pack plenty of bug spray.

The tour features five zip lines, the shortest of which is 250 feet while the longest is 1,600 feet over the Great River. The tour is two and a half hours long and costs $89 per person (as of February 2010). Make sure to call ahead of time not only to get your reservation, but also to alert the company as to where you are staying.

The tour takes roughly two hours and is available to anyone over the age of eight. Tour guides highlight the various unique foliage in the forest as well as telling tales of the White Witch herself. As of February 2010, prices for the tour start at $93 per person and reservations are strongly encouraged.
