An exciting addition to going on a cruise is the on-shore excursion. Many cruise companies offer stimulating off-ship activities in ports in the Caribbean. Depending on the destination, excursions could include a leisurely horseback ride on a white-sand beach or mountain biking through a tropical rain forest. Water worshipers could find themselves swimming with stingrays and dolphins or snorkeling along an exotic animal-inhabited coral reef. - Royal Caribbean International, headquartered in Miami, has a number of on-shore cruise excursions in the Caribbean, such as city sightseeing and adventure excursions, wilderness and wildlife tours and water and beach-related activities. The city and sightseeing tour excursions include visits to museums, archaeological sites, local markets and shops, cultural landmarks and natural settings. The adventure wilderness and wildlife excursions feature riding on roller coasters, kayaking through islands and diverse wildlife areas. For the water enthusiast, Royal Caribbean has excursions that are water and beach-related, such as shoreline snorkeling, scuba diving, bouncing on a water trampoline, swimming, stingray encounters, lounging and relaxing on your very own private guest beaches.
