- If your washer won't drain or spin, check to see if the drain hose is clogged. In addition, don't forget that the drain hose should be no more than 72 inches off the floor. Make sure the lid is closed, since the washer won't spin or drain if it is open. If you are experiencing a lot of suds in your wash, the machine may not be able to drain or spin the cycle.
- Some noises are normal when a washer is in use. Others, however, are not. If you hear something that doesn't sound quite right, check to see if your load is unbalanced. That can cause the machine to make a loud "thudding" noise. In addition, if the washer is not level, it may also make some unusual sounds. You can adjust the front feet by tightening the nuts. Ensure that you removed the yellow shipping strap from the unit.
- If the dispenser is clogged, check that you followed the manufacturer's instructions when adding all detergents to the dispensers. If your unit is leaking bleach, ensure that you put any powdered or color-safe bleach directly into the basket. Only liquid chlorine bleach goes into the dispenser. If your washer is leaking water, make sure the hoses are tight, that the sink or drain is not clogged and that the water is not deflecting off the tub ring or the load of laundry because you have overloaded the machine.
- Make sure you never overload your machine. This can cause a whole variety of problems, including causing your washer basket to become crooked. If the basket was pulled forward during the loading of the machine, you can just push the basket back to the center before you start the wash. An unlevel washing machine can also cause the basket to become crooked. Don't forget, though, that it is normal for the basket to move while the machine is washing the laundry.
