Exercise is the most important part in the process of recovering from a sports injury. Now-a-days an athlete cannot be completely cured just by having sessions with the doctor on couch. The ones who want a full recovery after an injury should follow the following steps in order to be able to walk around perfectly well.

Allow healing.

If a person gets bruised or hurt or gets a body part sore, he wont be willing to exercise that part of the body because it would still be hurting. If the person wants to go back to his daily sports routine, he should not be putting stress on the injured part and should take the doctors advice. The doctor should be supervising every move so that the injury doesnt get worse. Mostly doctors advice bed rest to stay out of trouble. A healthy diet will help the child to recover in a better way.

Restore motion and function in the injured area.

In order to restore range of motion the person should exercise as told by the physical therapist or the doctor. For example if the person can move the injured wrist as perfectly as the good one then it shows recovery and the person can move on to the next step. If the wrist doesnt work properly then the person should avoid turning back to sports.

Regain normal gait.

In case an athlete gets a leg injury, they often are heard to be complaining about how they have lost the way they normally walk or their gait. If the person starts walking normally that shows the person is returning back to their usual self and is ready for the next step.

Regain muscle strength.

Due to the injury the person was unable to use his muscles and exercise properly and the muscles had been resting. The athlete has to regain the strength by exercising to get back the strong muscles.

Regain endurance.

As most of the athlete get back their previous endurance in no time but some dont get ready to get back in the sports that fast. In the process, make sure the athlete doesnt stress his system. Activities that put less stress on the person should be preferred.

Regain skills.

If the athlete has been away and hadnt been playing for a period of time then his skills get weak and should work on his skills before joining sports.
