Bee Colony Removal

    • 1). Contact a carpenter to make a hole in the wall or ceiling where the beehive is located. If you're not a trained carpenter, you can do serious and expensive damage to your property if you attempt to make this hole by yourself. The hole should be on the exterior side of the wall or ceiling so that the bees don't enter the house.

    • 2). Put on a full bee suit to protect yourself from being stung. There can be hundreds or thousands of bees, so make sure that none of your skin is exposed.

    • 3). Plug a shop vacuum into an electrical outlet. Turn on the vacuum and suck out the bees and honeycombs from the hive. This will kill the bees. If you want to save the bees, then remove the honeycombs and place them in a bee box along with the honeycombs.

    • 4). Caulk the holes, using a caulking gun, where the bees came into the building. Bees are attracted to beeswax, so more bees will come in and try to establish another hive if you don't caulk up the holes.

    • 5). Spray any bees that you see congregating outside the caulked holes with over-the-counter wasp spray.
