    • 1). Roll cage wire out on a flat surface. Measure and cut the wire to 57 inches long. Keep the 4-foot width intact. Use wire cutters to cut the wire and wear leather work gloves to protect your hands.

    • 2). Roll the cage wire into a 4-foot-tall tube. Place a plant saucer on the ground and fit the bottom of the rolled cage snugly inside the rim of the saucer.

    • 3). Fasten the tube closed with six zip ties. Secure the top and bottom first, evenly spacing the remaining four zip ties. Remove the tube from the plant saucer.

    • 4). Place the flat side of a plant saucer on the ground. Fit one end of the tube inside the plant saucer and run a line of silicone caulk around the joint. Caulk the tube to the saucer from the inside of the cage, using a liberal amount to ensure a tight seal.

    • 5). Fill the tube with perches and plants. Clip food and water dishes to the inside of the cage, approximately one inch up from the bottom.

    • 6). Cover the top of the cage with a plastic plant saucer. Secure the cover with two bungee cords. Attach the cords to the top of the tube, stretch them across the cover in a crisscross fashion and hook them to the opposite side of the tube.
