How to Find Open Bakeries in Paris During July and August

106 7

A summertime sojourn in Paris is always fun, but one definite downside, especially for foodie types, is the closure of many of the city's best bakeries for the season. This often bewilders tourists, who search excitedly around their hotel for a good crusty Parisian baguette, only to find all the bakers in the area have shut down for vacation. And the rumor is true: supermarket baguettes and breads just don't compare.

So Where Can I Find a Good Paris Bakery in the Summer?

The good news is that a fair number of high quality bakeries keep their doors open in July and August. To find a bakery near you, figure out which of the 20 Paris districts (or "arrondissement") you're staying in.

Note: The files are in French, but once you know your "arrondissement" number, simply scroll down to your district to find the locations and contact details for the bakeries).
