Late-Night Bars in Barcelona

Barcelona has a number of secret late-night bars. These bars are often open well into the morning and offer a unique atmosphere for a late beer beyond normal closing time at 3 am.

Pipas Club, located in a corner of Plaça Reial, overlooking the square above Bar Glaciar, has a Victorian-inspired decor and features paintings of Sherlock Holmes and a collection of pipes from around the world.


In El Born, there are two famous night-night bars, Papillon and Brigadoon. Papillon is on the tiny sidestreet Neu de Sant Cugat, off Carrer Princesa. Don't turn up before 3 am because it's highly likely there won't be anybody there. Security personel will attempt to charge an arm and leg, but 10€ on weekends is the norm. Brigadoon is only open til 5 am. It's on Carrer dels Mirallers, around the corner from Santa Maria del Mar Church.

Flor del Norte is a Galician pulperia (octopus joint) during the day and a magnet for late-night drinkers after 3 am. It's on Passeig Colom, a block away from the old Correos building on Via Laietana.

Not so secret, but also serving post-3 am beers are Els Tres Tombs opposite Sant Antoni market and a number of greasy late night tapas joints on Via Laietana, including Glories and Reloj. Take your pick.
