How to Disable the Windows XP Home Task Manager

    • 1). Open the "Start" menu and click the "Run" command. This will open a new dialog box containing a text field.

    • 2). Type "Regedit" into the text field and press "Enter." This will open the Windows Registry Editor.

    • 3). Navigate to the following key using the left pane in the Registry Editor window:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

    • 4). Locate the entry in the right window labeled "DisableTaskMgr."

    • 5). Right-click this entry and select "Properties," then change the "value" option to "1." This will disable the Task Manager.
