How to Hang Bikes in Your Garage
- 1). Purchase wall brackets at the local bike shop, hardware store, or sporting goods store. Everyday-use brackets store the bike right-side-up for convenience, with long-term storage tending to be either one wheel or both wheels up.
- 2). Locate the wall studs in the garage. If the garage is semi-finished, you can see the tops of the nails that attach the sheet rock to the studs. If the wall is completely finished, use a stud-finder.
- 3). Lift the bike up to the height that is most convenient. Have another person mark on the wall or stud where the hook or hooks must be attached in order to hold the bike in that position.
- 4). Drill a starter hole and then attach the hook securely to the wall stud with screws. Test the hooks to ensure they are strong enough to hold the weight of the bike.
