How to Pressure Wash a Barn

    • 1). Brush off any dust or large debris from the exterior of the barn using a broom or brush. If necessary, set up a step ladder to help you reach the large eaves.

    • 2). Turn off power to all of the barn's exterior outlets, to prevent electrical damage.

    • 3). Close all windows and doors to the barn. If you are afraid that a window or door might leak, seal it closed with masking tape.

    • 4). Set up the pressure washer. Connect the pressure washer to a water source, following the manufacturer's instructions. Insert the pressure washer's siphon hose into the selected cleaning detergent or soap.

    • 5). Adjust the pressure washer's wand to the a low pressure.

    • 6). Pressure wash the one wall of the barn's siding and eaves with soap, beginning at the bottom of and slowly working your way to the top. Allow the cleaner to sit on the barn's siding for 5 to 10 minutes.

    • 7). Rinse off the detergent. Remove the soap from the pressure washer apparatus, following the manufacturer's instructions. Adjust the nozzle so that is set to a high-pressure mode. Rinse off the barn's siding and eaves, starting from the top and working your way down.

    • 8). Repeat Step 6 and Step 7 to wash and rinse all sides of the barn.
