How to Paint Tall Interior Walls With a Roller
- 1). Put goggles over your eyes. You'll be looking up, so you want to protect your eyes from dripping paint.
- 2). Step on a stepladder with the help of an assistant who holds the ladder for you. Place painters tape across the ceiling where it meets the top border of the wall.
- 3). Spread a tarp across the floor.
- 4). Open the paint can with a screwdriver by placing the screwdriver head in the side of the paint can cover and propping it up in several places around the can.
- 5). Stir the paint thoroughly with a paint stick while the paint still is in the can. Pour the paint in a paint tray.
- 6). Roll the roller brush into the paint tray and over the bumps in the tray to remove excess paint.
- 7). Hook the brush to an extender.
- 8). Paint the letter "W" on the wall in a single stroke that stretches about 2 to 4 feet wide. Move back over the the letter with another stroke. Fill in the spaces between the letter with another stroke. Continue until the entire wall is covered. You may need to step on a stepladder to reach the upper portions of the wall.
