Keeping Nice Hair With No Oil

102 7
Oily hair is caused by oil glands in the scalp producing excess oil which is then transferred to the hair, producing shine but also resulting in heavy-looking, limp hair without volume. A good hair care regimen for oily hair involves washing it daily with a mild shampoo and also after exercising if you happen to become sweaty during your session. Harsh shampoos or ones designed specifically to strip oils are not helpful. Using such shampoos simply results in the scalp producing more oils to compensate and exacerbating the problem.

When you wash your oily hair you will need to be very gentle with your fingers and make sure you remove as much soap as possible from your scalp. Unfortunately, oily hair shouldn't use conditioner but it may be required if the hair doesn't brush well or becomes a mess after it has dried. But if you decide to use conditioner then you should only worry about using it on the ends of your hair because that is where it is needed and not at the oil based where it is already lubricated.

When you brush your hair quite a bit, it will also push the oil all over making your head look even more oily. Many popular hair styling items are not good for oily hair and can really make things a lot worse for you so you shouldn't buy them. Mousse and hair gel are usually oily by nature and shouldn't be used because adding oil on top of more oil is definitely not your objective.

You may have heard the advice that a healthier lifestyle, with lots of water, is likely to help reduce the amount of oil that your body produces and there may be some truth to it. While there is no scientific evidence that it is fact or not, it won't hurt to try to adopt a better lifestyle in general.

These tips laid out in this article may help you reduce the amount of problems you have with oily hair and should be treated as common advice.
