How to Figue Out Your Handicap in Golf

104 1

    The Formula

    • 1). Play five full rounds of golf (18 holes each). These games can be played on the same course or multiple courses.

    • 2). Determine the rating and slope for the course(s). This information should be on the scorecard supplied by the course; if not, the pro shop staff will know.

    • 3). Subtract the rating of the course for each round from your score for each round, resulting in five separate numbers.

    • 4). Multiply each of the numbers found in Step 3 by 113, again resulting in five separate numbers.

    • 5). Divide each resulting number from Step 4 by the corresponding course slope.

    • 6). Multiply the lowest resulting number from Step 5 by 0.96 to get your handicap, rounded to the nearest tenth.
