  LEDs are much more cost-efficient than many other light bulbs. On average, operating a 100-watt incandescent light bulb 12 hours daily for a year can cost around $43. Running the XR-10, a type of LED bulb, for the exact same amount of time will only cost around $4.30 for the year. The high initial cost to purchase LEDs is mostly because of high production costs.
