Sugar and Spice, This Party Menu is Nice
This makes Sugar and Spice an ideal theme for a girl's birthday party.
Decorations of pink and purple, with lots of sparkle and shine are a must.
But parties cannot function on pretty decorations alone.
A Sugar and spice menu will help keep the guest of honor and her friends celebrating long past their bedtime.
With a theme of sugar and spice, one great menu idea is to have a cookie bar.
Make sure to have sugar cookies, snicker doodles and ginger cookies.
For a fun treat add a lemon cooler to the mix to add an extra flare of sugar.
Making lemon coolers for a sugar and spice party menu is a cinch once the following ingredients are gathered:one cup butter, ½ cup sugar, 1 ½ tablespoons lemon zest, grated, one egg yolk, one teaspoon lemon extract, ¼ teaspoon salt, 2 ½ cups flour, all-purpose.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Using electric mixer, cream butte in medium bowl until light.
Gradually add 1/2 c sugar and beat until fluffy, stopping, occasionally to scrape down sides of bowl.
Beat in lemon peel, yolk, extract and salt, Add flour and beat just until blended (if dough is very stiff, beat with a wooden spoon).
Roll dough by tablespoonfuls into balls.
Set dough balls on ungreased heavy baking sheets, spacing 3 inches apart.
Dip bottom of 2-1/2 inch round glass into sugar.
Press down onto 1 dough ball, flattening into 1/4 inch thick round.
Repeat with remaining dough balls.
Bake until cookie edges begin to brown, about 10 minutes.
Transfer cookies to racks and cool.
Sift powdered sugar over the tops.
Having a cookie bar at a sugar and spice party menu will fill the need of all sweet tooths!
