    Frist Center for the Visual Arts

    • The Frist Center for the Visual Arts is a two-story art museum open throughout the week. The museum offers guided tours of visiting exhibits once each day. Visitors can learn about the center building and surrounding structures during the monthly architectural tour. The Martin ArtQuest Gallery is an activities area where kids can paint, draw and display their art. The Music in the Lobby series presents free concerts from regional bands on Thursday and Friday nights. Cinema lovers can watch classic movies during monthly Films at the Frist presentations.

    Tennessee State Museum

    • The Tennessee State Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday with free daily admission. The Antebellum exhibit houses landscape paintings and a recreated Clarksville street from the 1850s. The New South exhibit celebrates Tennessee's post-Civil War growth with artifacts from the Tennessee Centennial Exposition. The museum houses hundreds of quilts dating back to the 19th century in the Cracker Barrel Quilt Gallery. The Military Branch Museum houses memorials to Tennessee veterans across the street from the State Museum. Visitors can purchase history books, posters and handmade crafts at the Museum Shop.
