How to Disable Home Security Systems

• 1). Locate the alarm's transformer box. This is a metal box usually placed in the basement or a closet. It is where all the power of your home security alarm originates, and it also sends the wires to all the parts of the security system.
  
  
• 2). Find the battery inside the box and remove it. This is the alarm's secondary source of power, just in case of a power outage. You will still have to shut off the alarm's primary power source, which is located on your home's circuit breaker.
  
  
• 3). Go to your home's circuit breaker. This will be located inside of a metal box, usually in your basement. It should be in the same area where your alarm's transformer is located.
  
  
• 4). Follow the wires from your alarm's transformer to the circuit board and locate the switch powering the alarm.
  
  
• 5). Flip off the switch that is powering your home alarm system. If you do this without removing the battery, your alarm will still be on.
